Raw Almonds in bulk Organic

Where do these raw almonds come from?

From Spain, organically grown, in a 250 g bag sold by weight. The ingredient list runs to one mention: 100% raw almonds. Kazidomi Vrac does not roast them and adds no salt, which leaves the taste of the plain almond and its brown skin intact.

Raw or caramelised almonds for a snack?

The raw ones bring the almond alone, with no coating and no added sugar: a sober taste, a dry crunch, and use in savoury cooking as much as sweet. The caramelised are covered in cooked cane sugar and belong with the sweet things. Both are sold by weight at Kazidomi Vrac.

How do I tell an almond has gone rancid?

By the smell first, close to cardboard or paint, then by the taste, bitter and sharp on the finish. A sound Kazidomi Vrac almond snaps cleanly and smells of fresh hazelnut. Rancidity comes from heat, light and air: an opaque, closed jar avoids it.

How do I make almond drink at home?

Soak the almonds for several hours, rinse them, then blend with water, roughly one volume of almonds to four of water. Strain through a fine cloth and press. With raw Kazidomi Vrac almonds the drink keeps a beige tone, part of the skin staying in the pulp.

Which size for which use?

The 250 g bag covers occasional use: a granola, a few recipes, a snack for the week. Kazidomi Vrac offers the same raw almond in a one-kilo pack for regular preparations, butters and plant drinks, where consumption climbs quickly. Selling by weight allows precise dosing.
