How much of this is chocolate?

Chocolate makes up 74% of the product and the almond the rest. It is built from cane sugar, cocoa mass, cocoa butter and natural vanilla flavouring, all from organic farming. Kazidomi Vrac has these coated almonds made in Belgium and sells them in a 250 g bag.

What are the sunflower oil and gum arabic for?

They are what gives the shell its glossy finish. Gum arabic lays a fine film over the chocolate and the sunflower oil brings the shine. Without them the Kazidomi Vrac almonds would stick to one another and lose their smooth look inside the bag.

Dark chocolate almonds or praline-coated almonds?

The coating changes everything. Here a smooth, glossy dark chocolate shell sits straight on the almond. The praline version goes through a layer of cooked sugar and finishes with a roll in lean cocoa, matt and powdery to the touch. Kazidomi Vrac makes both from the same almond.

How should I serve them?

At the end of a meal with coffee, in a small bowl with drinks, or crushed over an ice cream or a soft white cheese. The coated almonds from Kazidomi Vrac also chop cleanly under a knife to decorate a cake: the dark chocolate breaks sharp and the almond keeps its crunch.

How do I keep them?

Cool, dry and out of the light, bag closed or the contents tipped into a jar. Light and heat dull the coating on the Kazidomi Vrac almonds and can bring the cocoa butter to the surface as a pale film, without the product itself being spoiled in any way.
