It is manual work and tradition that give a large part of its qualities to this pumpkin seed oil: The large seeds of the pumpkins, free of shells, are extracted by hand from the fruits. They are then cleaned with clean water in accordance with Austrian tradition and carefully grilled at 70°C. The seeds of Styrian squash are particularly large and have an exquisite taste. To obtain one litre of pumpkin seed oil, it is necessary to extract the seeds from 30 to 50 squashes.
The seed shells contain a large amount of chlorophyll and carotene, which gives the oil a bright, dark reddish-green colour.
