"Camelina demeter oil combines nutritional benefits, authentic flavour and is part of the biodynamic approach. Rich in essential fatty acids of the omega 3 type, camelina oil contributes to the maintenance of normal cholesterol levels thanks to a daily consumption of 2 g (= 6 ml/) or about 1 teaspoon per day. It goes particularly well with salads, raw vegetables, aperitif sauces and cottage cheese dishes. The seeds we press come from a biodynamic farm located in southwestern France, Biodynamics is a unique agricultural method that works to develop balanced agricultural estates through respect for life, seasonal and cosmic rhythms and the soil, thus improving soil quality. Initiated by Rudolf Steiner, this method goes beyond the specifications of organic farming. Camelina is often grown in combination with other plants, such as lentils or protein peas. On the one hand, its rosette-shaped leaves line and decompact the soil to prevent weeds from growing, and on the other hand, thanks to its allelopathic properties, camelina releases phytotoxic compounds that stop weeds from growing.
