This Fairtrade organic white Basmati rice from India is a great local rice, sought after for its unique flavour. It is a rustic variety of Basmati (literally "queen of fragrance" in Hindi), called Ranbir. This exceptional rice is grown for us on its native land, in 14 small rural villages in Jammu and Kashmir, in the Punjab. Since 2018, 377 small-scale rice farmers have come together under our impetus. Their lives have changed: organic farming does not put their health at risk and, thanks to fair trade, they are equipped to work in safer conditions. You won't believe your eyes: the grains of this Fairtrade organic white Basmati rice double in size when cooked! And it's a real treat!
