How do I rehydrate loose sun-dried tomatoes?

Drop them into hot water, stock or warm vinegar for ten to fifteen minutes, then drain and pat them dry. The Kazidomi Vrac tomatoes can then be cut into strips for a salad, a focaccia or a sauce. Chopped, they also go straight into a slow-cooked dish.

Loose dried tomatoes or tomatoes in oil: what should I choose?

The loose version from Kazidomi Vrac holds tomatoes and sea salt only: dry, they can be weighed out to the gram and keep for a long time in the cupboard. The jarred ones sit marinated in oil with garlic, capers and herbs, ready to serve but quicker to finish once opened.

What exactly is in them?

Two ingredients: organic dried tomatoes and sea salt. No oil, no preservative and no added sugar. They come from Türkiye and Kazidomi Vrac offers them in a 250 g format, a quantity that covers several recipes without taking up room in the fridge.

How do I store them?

Somewhere cool and dry, out of the light, tipped into an airtight jar once the bag is open. The Kazidomi Vrac tomatoes stay supple; if they harden, they have simply dried out, and a spell in hot water gives the texture back. The fridge is not needed at all.

Are they very salty?

Sea salt is the second and last ingredient: it goes on during drying and does the preserving. The taste is therefore direct and concentrated. Cut the salt elsewhere in the recipe when you add Kazidomi Vrac tomatoes to a sauce, to a bread dough or to a salad.
