Cherry Tomatoes Organic

What is in these tinned cherry tomatoes?

Whole cherry tomatoes at 60% and tomato juice, and nothing else. No added sugar, no salt, no acidity regulator. Both ingredients are organically grown and come from Italy. Each Kazidomi tin holds 400 g, juice included, and the pack contains three of them for the cupboard.

Whole cherry tomatoes or chopped tomatoes: which do I reach for?

The Kazidomi cherry tomatoes stay whole and burst under the fork, which suits pizza, gratins and any dish where the tomato should still be visible. Chopped tomatoes are already cut and collapse into an even sauce within minutes. Cherry tomatoes also taste naturally sweeter than the chopped sort.

How do I cook them?

Straight into a hot pan with olive oil and garlic. Ten minutes is enough for the Kazidomi cherry tomatoes to slump and turn themselves into a sauce. They also go in whole, added to a ratatouille, a stew or a soup, or scattered over pizza dough before it meets the oven.

Do I need to drain them?

Not usually. The tomato juice in the tin is part of the recipe and makes the base of the sauce. For a pizza or a tart, drain them first so the dough does not turn soggy, then keep that Kazidomi juice back for a soup or a risotto later on.

How do I store an opened tin?

Sealed, the tins sit in a dry cupboard at room temperature. Once opened, do not leave the contents in the tin: tip them into an airtight non-metallic container, refrigerate and use them quickly. Kazidomi cherry tomatoes also freeze well in portions, with their juice around them.
