Xylitol Sweetener

Xylitol is a natural sweetener, produced from one of the constituents of birch wood, hemicellulose. This manufacturing process does not require the use of chemical solvents, and xylitol can be considered as a natural product as opposed to synthetic chemical sweeteners such as aspartame or acesulfame K. Xylitol has nutritional benefits and offers a healthier alternative to sugar, thanks to its very low glycemic index (7-8). It does not cause a blood sugar spike and is therefore particularly suitable for diabetics. Xylitol has a sweetening power equal to raw sugar, but 30% higher when cooked: in pastries, use 70g of Xylitol for 100g of sugar. Ecoidées' Xylitol is guaranteed GMO-free, pesticide-free, gluten-free and free of chemical and solvent residues. Xylitol is purified by crystallization and contains no additives of any kind. It has not been exposed to any sterilization or ionizing radiation, and contains no allergens.
