Gomasio is Japanese for sesame (goma) and salt (shio) and it is a condiment used to sprinkle on your dishes. The sesame seeds and salt have been lightly grilled on a wood fire and ground to a powder. The combination of sesame (high in calcium) and salt (rich in magnesium) make Gomasio a tasty and healthy condiment. As a replacement for salt it can help to use less salt.
