Ingredients

  • 2 sheets of puff pastry
  • Black olive tapenade
  • Optional: sun-dried tomatoes, pine nuts, pesto, sesame or poppy seeds

Recipe

  1. Spread the black olive tapenade over one sheet of puff pastry, leaving a 1 cm border around the edges.
  2. You can add extra fillings if desired: pesto, chopped sun-dried tomatoes, pine nuts, sesame, or poppy seeds.
  3. Place the second puff pastry sheet on top.
  4. Brush the uncovered edges with a bit of water and press to seal the two sheets together.
  5. Optional: Brush the top with an egg yolk for a golden finish.
  6. Preheat your oven to 180°C (356°F).
  7. Place a small glass in the center of the tart and cut strips from the edge of the glass outward to create "sun rays."
  8. Twist each strip on itself. If the pastry becomes too soft to twist, chill it in the fridge for 20 minutes.
  9. Remove the glass and bake for 30 minutes.
  10. Serve and enjoy!
