Dried Pineapple in bulk Organic

Do these pineapple pieces have added sugar?

The ingredient list names dried organic pineapple, at 100%, and nothing more. The sweetness in the Kazidomi Vrac pieces comes from the fruit itself, whose sugars concentrate as the water evaporates during drying. The tangy note pineapple is known for survives that step intact.

Where is this pineapple from and how is it cut?

Côte d'Ivoire. The fruit is dried in chunks and the woody central core is taken out, so only the tender flesh is left and nothing hard meets the teeth. Kazidomi Vrac sells it loose by weight in a 250 g bag, which lets you match the quantity to the use.

Dried pineapple or dried apple cubes: which to choose?

Kazidomi Vrac pineapple is tender, strongly perfumed and frankly tangy, which makes it stand out inside a mix. Dried apple is more neutral, milder and slightly crisp. For lifting a granola or a fruit salad, pineapple takes over; for a quiet snack or a homemade compote, apple sits better.

How do I use them in the kitchen?

As they are for a snack, or cut smaller into yoghurt, muesli, a loaf cake or a rice salad. The Kazidomi Vrac pineapple pieces also work with chicken, pork and curry in a sweet and savoury dish. Rehydrated in a little warm water, they turn supple again for a tart filling.

What storage conditions do they need?

Out of the light, the heat and the damp, as Kazidomi Vrac indicates. An airtight jar does the job. Left out in the air the pieces harden and stick to each other; left somewhere damp they go too soft. A dry cupboard and a well-closed tub settle both problems at once.
