Peppermint Essential Oil Organic

How is peppermint essential oil taken?

Never neat. Kazidomi says to dilute it in a teaspoon of honey, in vegetable oil or on a sugar lump, without going past the daily amount printed on the pack or the length of course stated on it. This is a food supplement and does not stand in for a varied diet.

Peppermint or eucalyptus radiata: which oil?

Both Kazidomi 10 ml bottles are distilled from leaves, but their chemotypes part company. Peppermint runs on menthol and menthone, with a very frank minty smell. Eucalyptus radiata, rich in eucalyptol, comes across as herbaceous and camphorous. The mint is grown in India, the eucalyptus in South Africa.

Where does the peppermint in this bottle come from?

Peppermint arose from a natural cross between spearmint and water mint. Kazidomi distils the leaves of Mentha x piperita grown in India, and the bottle is then prepared in France. It holds peppermint essential oil from organic farming and nothing else, with no carrier added to it.

What should I check before using peppermint?

Kazidomi does not advise it where there is a history of convulsions or a neurological condition, nor for pregnant or breastfeeding women and children under six. Medical advice is recommended in cases of gallstones, reflux or hepato-pancreatic disorders. The bottle stays out of the reach of children.

What does the chemotype menthol and menthone mean?

The chemotype names the majority molecules of an essential oil, and therefore its real profile. On this Kazidomi bottle those molecules are menthol and menthone, the pair that characterises Mentha x piperita. Two oils carrying the same plant name can differ by terroir and by the moment of harvest.
