Rosemary Breadsticks Organic

How much rosemary is in them?

2.9% organic rosemary, enough to scent the dough without taking it over. The Kazidomi grissini are made from wheat flour, sunflower oil, yeast and salt, with no added flavouring at all. The packet holds 160 g of sticks, baked in France from French wheat.

Rosemary or black olive grissini: which are the plainer ones?

The rosemary ones. Kazidomi makes them with sunflower oil and a single herb, so they sit beside a tapenade, a houmous or a cheese without competing with it. The black olive version brings pieces of olive, extra virgin olive oil and herbes de Provence, and tastes far more assertive.

Are they suitable for a gluten-free diet?

No: the base is wheat flour, as it is in any traditional grissino. The Kazidomi label also flags possible traces of sesame and milk, which matters to anyone who reacts to either. The rest of the list stops at sunflower oil, rosemary, yeast and salt.

How do I serve them with drinks?

Standing in a glass, next to a houmous, a tapenade or a mashed avocado, or laid flat on a board beside cheese and raw vegetables. The Kazidomi rosemary grissini also snap into pieces over a salad or a soup, where they do the job of croutons rather well.

How should I store them?

Somewhere cool and dry, out of the light, with the packet closed firmly after opening. With no preservative in them, the Kazidomi grissini pick up moisture from the air and lose their snap within a few days. An airtight tin holds them longer, especially in a steamy kitchen.
