Earl grey green tea Organic

How do you brew this bergamot green tea?

One teaspoon to 200 ml of water at 75-80°C, for two to three minutes. Any longer and the Kazidomi green tea turns bitter while the bergamot fades. Boiling water scorches the leaves, so let it settle after the boil. Drink it plain, lightly sweetened, or iced in summer.

What is in the blend?

Chinese green tea at 96.6%, bergamot essential oil at 3% and cornflower petals, all from organic farming. The blend is put together in France and sold by Kazidomi in a 100 g pack. The cornflower petals are there for the look; they do not scent the cup.

Earl grey or mint green tea?

The Kazidomi earl grey scents a Chinese green tea with bergamot: a citrus profile, close to a classic earl grey but less tannic than a black tea base. The mint version pairs the same green tea with 40% spearmint, frankly minty and very refreshing served iced.

Does this tea contain caffeine?

Yes, as any green tea does: the leaf of Camellia sinensis carries it naturally. The Kazidomi blend is not decaffeinated. Anyone after a hot drink without caffeine turns instead to a plant infusion, made only of flowers, roots, barks and spices.

How is tea kept so that it holds its scent?

In its resealed pack or in an airtight tin, somewhere dry, out of the light and away from spices. The bergamot essential oil in the Kazidomi blend is volatile: a container left open loses its scent. Avoid the fridge, where tea picks up moisture and neighbouring smells.
