Genmaicha is a blend of green tea and roasted rice. It has a sweet, mellow, roasted flavor that is a great accompaniment to meals and aids in digestion. It is rare to find a high quality Genmaicha because Genmaicha is usually made with Bancha which is a late harvest tea (3rd and/or 4th harvest) and therefore of low quality, which makes it often quite cheap but not very qualitative (the rice often helps to mask the taste of low quality tea). Genmaicha IRO is an exclusive blend of first harvest organic Sencha and organic roasted and puffed rice. Low in theine (caffeine), this tea can be drunk throughout the day for a sweet comforting moment. This high quality green tea can be brewed twice with the same leaves and can also be cold brewed.
