Crispy Tofu Fries

A simple and tasty way to enjoy tofu in a crispy version. These light and flavorful fries are perfect for a quick snack or a light meal.

Ingredients

Ingredients for about 10 fries:

  • 200 g tofu
  • 30 g nutritional yeast
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper
  • Olive oil

Recipe

  1. Cut the tofu into sticks. Place them on paper towels, then cover with another sheet of paper towel. Put a heavy object on the tofu for 5 minutes to remove excess water.
  2. In a plate, mix the nutritional yeast, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Dip the tofu pieces into this mixture and gently press to coat each "frie" well.
  3. Heat some olive oil in a pan. Cook the tofu fries, turning regularly to brown them evenly. You can also bake them in the oven: brush with olive oil and cook at 200°C (390°F) for 10 minutes. Turn them, brush with oil again, and cook for another 10 minutes.
  4. Once the fries are golden and crispy, serve immediately and enjoy this simple, light treat.
