Christmas vegetarian foie gras alternative

Enjoy this delicious faux-gras at your Christmas Eve dinner!
Ingredients
- 200g chickpeas
- 100g button mushrooms
- 1 red onion
- 80g coconut oil
- 100ml plant-based cream
- 150ml water
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon agar-agar
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon turmeric
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ½ teaspoon salt
Recipe
- Drain the chickpeas.
- Slice the mushrooms and cook them.
- Finely chop the red onion and sauté it in a pan with olive oil.
- In a blender, combine the chickpeas, mushrooms, and onion.
- Add the coconut oil, plant-based cream, and spices (cinnamon, salt, pepper, and turmeric).
- Blend until smooth and homogeneous.
- In a saucepan, pour the water, add the agar-agar, and bring it to a boil for 2 minutes.
- Add the water and agar-agar mixture to the blender and mix again.
- Pour the mixture into jars and refrigerate.
- Enjoy!
