From December to March, olives ripened in the sun are picked and processed using a process known as cold extraction. They come from Spain or Portugal, for example. To produce BIO PLANÈTE medium fruity olive oil, we always take from our partner farmers the volume that best meets our rigorous taste and quality criteria. Some batches are sometimes carefully mixed in order to obtain an even tastier and more balanced bouquet. We recommend this medium fruity oil to consumers who appreciate the typical fruity and aromatic taste of olive oils but who are less fond of more bitter and spicy flavours. This tasty and particularly balanced olive oil refines typical Mediterranean dishes such as mozzarella tomatoes, ratatouille or moussaka. Olive oil is considered an essential element of the so-called Mediterranean or Cretan diet, in which it replaces, among other things, butter. It has been proven that consuming unsaturated fatty acids rather than saturated fatty acids reduces blood cholesterol levels. High cholesterol levels are a risk factor for coronary heart disease.
