  • Turmeric tofu (Kazidomi)
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp peanut oil (or other)
  • 1 tsp ground ginger
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • 1 tsp curry powder
  • 2 garlic cloves, pressed
  • Skewers

For the satay sauce:

  • 1 tsp Thai curry paste
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 3 tbsp peanut butter (Kazidomi)
  • 500 ml coconut milk
  • 80 g crushed peanuts
  • 1–2 tbsp lime juice
  • 1.5 tsp brown sugar
  • Paprika
  • Garlic powder

Recipe

Tofu:

  1. Prepare the marinade by mixing the oil, salt, curry, turmeric, ginger powder, soy sauce, and garlic.
  2. Cut the tofu into small cubes and add them to the marinade. Mix well.
  3. Let marinate for about 1 hour.
  4. Thread 4 cubes of tofu onto each skewer.
  5. Bake the skewers in the oven at 200°C for 20 minutes, flipping them after 10 minutes.
  6. Turn on the grill for the final minute to brown.

Satay sauce:

  1. Mix all ingredients (except lime juice and crushed peanuts) in a saucepan.
  2. Stir well and cook over medium heat.
  3. Once the sauce thickens slightly, remove from heat. Cook longer or shorter depending on your preferred consistency.
  4. Add the lime juice and crushed peanuts.
