Côtes du Rhône Rouge AOP DS Rouge

The Domain : Family vineyard of 60 hectares on the heights of Valréas, the Domaine du Séminaire is entirely worked in organic agriculture with a penchant for biodynamics, especially in the cellar where we use the lunar calendar. The domain is located between 300 and 400m of altitude on clay-limestone and saffron soils. The wines are very fresh and fruity with soft tannins. Its geographical location on the foothills has generated very varied soils, clay-limestone on the lower slopes, very stony at the foot of the hill, with some sandy and gravelly areas. The diversity and the quality of the grape varieties favor the complexity of the vintages, whether they are PGI or PDO Coteaux d'Aix-en-Provence. The vinification process is based on natural fermentation, with very few inputs, a strong control of temperatures, and maturation ranging from barrels to concrete eggs, depending on the cuvée.

Anecdote: For me, wine is made first and foremost in the vineyard: it is with beautiful fruit that one can make beautiful juice! I attach particular importance to my vines, and I spend a lot of time there and I learn again and again, every year. No weed killers, no chemical fertilizers and no synthetic products ... and a lot of pleasure in observing the plant and all the living things around us.

Tasting notes :

Eye: ruby color with purple reflections.

Nose: notes of wild berries and liquorice

Mouth : balanced wine that expresses roundness and fruit on the palate It will perfectly accompany grilled meats and mixed salads.
