One of the most employed oils in cosmetology.
For centuries, this virgin oil has been extracted from the Prunus Amygdalus, of the Rosaceae family.
It contains an average of 70% unsaturated fatty acids: 60 to 77% oleic acid, and 17 to 20% linoleic acid, very rich in vitamins A and E.
This almond tree has been cultivated since Antiquity in all the Mediterranean basin, and particularly in Provence. It produces two qualities of fruits: the sweet almond and the bitter almond, inedible as it contains hydrocyanic acid.
This oil has softening and nourishing properties for the skin. It soothes itching, and burns.
It is also used for chapping of the breasts, hands, and all types of skin irritations, dermatosis, and irritations of the mucous membranes.
